Arusha is a city of northern Tanzania surrounded by some of Africa's most famous landscapes and national parks. Beautifully situated below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley, it has a pleasant climate and is close to Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, and Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as having its own Arusha National Park on Mount Meru. Arusha is mostly served by Kilimanjaro International Airport for international travellers, some 60 kilometres (37 mi) east, approximately halfway to Moshi. The airport provides international and domestic flights. Arusha Airport is a smaller domestic airport in the west of the city, currently undergoing expansion. It serves more than 87,000 passengers yearly, amazingly for its size. It is surrounded by a beautiful drape of hills and lush savanna. |

| Arusha Coffee Lodge |

The lodge has 25 well appointed private luxury chalets offering the highest levels of comfort with en-suite facilities including shower, bath, and separate toilets. Individual chalets are built on raised platforms with multi level rooms. These are full of character with log fireplaces, private lounges and huge verandahs from where you can take in the panoramic views over the coffee estate and Mount Meru. The rooms are beautifully fitted out with wood-paneled walls, stylish furniture and are all equipped with a mini bar, mosquito nets, and overhead fans. Each chalet also has its own private coffee grinder and a percolator, completing the true ambience of the coffee estate. Room service is available.
The Lodge features the highly rated Redds African Grill House. You can have your main meals served either in the main restaurant or by the pool. When available, bush dinners are served around a fire under the big tree in the plantation.
Their menu offers a selection of both traditional Tanzanian cuisine and other tempting African specialties. In the mornings you can enjoy hearty breakfasts in your room or on your private verandah against a scenic backdrop of the coffee plantation fields and Mount Meru in the distance. The Lodge has a laid back safari atmosphere with great bar and lounge areas. There is also a nice size swimming pool which is reserved for hotel guests, and relaxation spa where you can spoil yourself with a Thai massage. With coffee roasters and a fermentation plant on the estate, you can take a guided tour to simply observe or learn more about the roasting process, sample and taste the coffee blends, and of course you can also purchase freshly roasted beans.
Different blends and roasts of coffee are served at the lodge along with coffee-themed sweetmeats. Other than the plantation tour, other optional activities include horse riding, nature walks, and mountain biking. |

Mountain Village Lodge is located 20 minutes drive outside of Arusha - nestling in the heart of a coffee plantation on the shores of Lake Duluti, it is the perfect place to relax before or after experiencing the adventure of a Safari.
It is designed as an African Village and is renowned for its collection of spectacular bougainvilleas. The gardens are beautiful and provide a very tranquil place to just sit and relax, with chairs and tables randomly scattered all over. The area is an ornithologist's paradise. Guests can take a relaxing walk along Lake Duluti spotting all the stunning African birds or wander through the coffee plantations around the lodge.
Accommodation is housed in banana stem thatched huts, grouped in semi-circles around tropical shade trees. The lodge has 46 guest rooms (36 twins & 6 superior rooms). All rooms are en suite with private front doors leading out into the garden. The rooms are very romantic and comfortable.
The restaurant and bar are located in the Old Colonial Farmhouse which has all modern amenities. They have a good restaurant which serves a good buffet and a very good pub.
Activities: Lake shore walks to see the Colobus monkeys, forest antelope and the abundant bush life. |

Rivertrees is a peaceful country estate, set in 10 acres of natural gardens along the Usa-River. The lodge is nestled between Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru, between the cities of Arusha and Moshi. Combining old colonial style ambiance, excellent farm cuisine, personal service and a genuine warmth from your - the owner. It abounds with birdlife and offers breathtaking views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru.
Rivertrees accommodates up to 24 guests, guaranteeing privacy, personal attention and good service. The 8 self contained guestrooms are located in the main farmhouse and within the spacious gardens along the river. The 2 'River Cottages' offer private decks and wood burning fire places. Emphasis is on providing comfortable accommodation, with each room individually styled and uniquely furnished with it's own character.
Rivertrees offers excellent country cuisine, using fresh fruit, herbs and vegetables grown in their own gardens. The aroma of freshly baked bread, herbs and spices wafing in from the kitchens will peek your appetite. They also specializes in catering for seminars, weddings, conferences, and corporate workshops for incentive groups and other special occasions.

(The hotel runs its own community project. Bahati is a German & Tanzanian registered non-profit organization, helping women and their children released from prison shelter, food and medical care. They train women to make jewellery using beadwork and locally available items, thus ensuring self-funding of the project, although donations form an invaluable source.) |

Moivaro Coffee plantation is situated between Arusha and Moshi (Kilimanjaro International Airport), in the heart of beautiful, natural scenery (20min South of Arusha town). Forty acres of coffee plantation surround the lodge and you will find a charming atmosphere together with every comfort. From the hotel you have a fantastic view of Mount Meru. From almost every room you have a perfect view of the mountain, and makes for a fantastic way to wake up in the mornings.
The lodge is an ideal starting point for the Safaris in the Northern Circuit and for Kilimanjaro climbs.
Moivaro has a total of 25 double, triple or single cottages well positioned in the beautiful gardens. Each cottage is individually placed around the coffee plantation which ensures they are private and very cozy. The interiors are fairly basic but very neat and very comfortable. Each of the picturesque cottages has its own verhanda and there is a swimming pool, children's playground, bar and restaurant as well as jogging path, massage room and internet facilities. You will not want anything more if you are planning on spending only a night here.

Mt Meru Safari Lodge is located 18 kilometres East of Arusha town along the main road leading to Kilimanjaro International Airport. It is situated in a Game Sanctuary which provides many of its visitors with their first exciting game viewing experience.
The Lodge is able to arrange full-day and half-day cultural, educational and game viewing excursions to some of the best sites in and around Arusha town.
The Lodge comprises 17 Double or Twin en-suite Bedrooms situated in a combination of detached and semi-detached cottages. All rooms have a veranda with comfortable chairs where guests may sit during the late afternoons enjoying the peace of the surroundings, or watching the animals and birds.
The Game Sanctuary in which the lodge is situated is unique to the Arusha area. All the animals at the sanctuary have been orphaned or badly injured and now they live in peace and safety. Residents include Eland, Ostrich, waterbuck, Zebra, Buffalo and a prolific bird life.
The property, which consists of 33 acres, also sits beside the tranquil waters of the Usa river.

The SG hotel is located alongside of Nairobi road, just 2 km from the Arusha town center. The hotel offers 24 well-furnished rooms which includes: 10 single rooms, 10 double rooms and 4 executive suites, all with en-suite bathrooms and 21 inch colour TV. Our rooms are spacious, well ventilated and although they are basic they are clean and very comfortable. We have direct dial telephone facility and room-to-room connection.
The hotel offers laundry and dry cleaning facilities too.
They provide twenty-four hour restaurant and room service. The restaurants also cater for cocktail parties and buffers and have a well equipped bar.
The poolside bar offer a wide choice of drink and the bar men will be pleased to make cocktails of your choice. |
